JOSE VINCENCH

Headshot of Artist Jose Vincench

Jose Angel Vincench attended the Instituto Superior de Arte in his native Cuba. Central subjects of his conceptual art include sociopolitical issues relevant to his beliefs and personal life experiences as a Cuban. Not openly accepted in Cuban society, his controversial work leaves the artist as an exile in his own homeland. The work itself, minimal and abstract, inspires introspection and critical thinking, often focusing on the intellectual rather than the aesthetic progression of art making. Vincench has shown his work in international solo and group exhibitions as well as art fairs and museum collections.
