Born in Caracas, Venezuela (1970)
As with most Venezuelan artists from his generation, Margulis came of age with the rise of Geometric Abstraction and Kinetic art. He was influenced by Jesús Soto and Naum Gabo’s Linear Constructions in Space series, which challenges the construction of volume and space.
For Margulis, abstraction is the language he masters with ease. He works predominantly in the medium of geometric 3D sculpture, mixed media and photography. His colorfully sculpted pieces emerge as models for his photographic creations, and conversely, each medium coexisting individually yet dialoguing with the other.
He has participated in numerous exhibitions and international art fairs and his works are part of corporate and private collections in the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
He lives and works in Miami, Florida.
