Raised in Paducah, Kentucky (1979), Tim Jaeger earned his BFA with a Major in Fine Arts and a Minor in Modern Art History from the Ringling College of Art and Design, in Sarasota, Florida (2002), where he was a Trustee Scholar.
For the last twenty years, he has maintained his studio in Sarasota. His recent works are gestural constructions about observing and understanding a subject/object and giving it a new abstract, material body. According to his artist statement, “the work is created through a process involving an application consisting of a variety of mediums and materials, which create a familiar union brought to life through the equality of elements, patterns, and design.”
He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad, and he has received several awards and grants. Jaeger’s paintings can be found in various public and private collections.
He is a co-founder of SARTQ and SarasotaVisualArt.com, co-chair of 10×10 Sarasota, Curator, and Director of GAZE Modern. He currently serves as RCAD’s Campus and Community Engagement Manager.
