Born in Havana, Cuba (1956)
Luis Cabrera studied at San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts, Havana, Cuba; the Higher Institute of Art (ISA), Havana, Cuba; and the Higher Institute of Graphics and Art of Books, Leipzig, Germany.
A painter, printmaker and draftsman, he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including the IV Bharat Bahva Graphic Biennial, India (1997); the XI International Biennial, Print and Drawing Exhibition, Taiwan, China (2004); The Multiple Print, Biennial Wifredo Lam, Havana, Cuba (2006); and the Millennial Anniversary of the Korean Tripitaka (2011), Korea. He has received several awards including a Mention at La Joven Estampa, Casa de las Americas, Havana, Cuba; an Honorable Mention at the Engraving Triennial of Norway, Fredrikstad, Norway; and a Mention at the International Biennial of Engraving of Saporo, Japan.
He moved to Madrid, Spain in 1993.
