Born in Holguín, Cuba (1964)
Glexis Novoa studied at the National School of Art (ENA), Cubanacán, and the René Portocarrero Silk Screen Print Shop, Havana, Cuba. He traveled to Mexico, in 1993, and moved to Miami, in 1995.
His work has been included in numerous individual and group exhibitions. His most recent solo shows include Suttas & Devas, Ilan Karpio Projects, Lima, Peru (2018); Glexis Novoa, David Castillo Gallery, Miami Beach, FL (2017); Things as They Are, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba (2016); and Emptiness, Lowe Art Museum, Coral Gables, FL (2015). He has worked on site specific wall drawings and ephemeral projects worldwide, and has received many awards including grants from the Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (CIFO); the Cintas Foundation; and the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship for Visual and Media Artists.
He lives and works in Havana and Miami, FL.
