Born in Santi Spiritus, Cuba (1962)
Carlos Rodríguez Cárdenas studied at the Provincial School of Art (EPA), Santa Clara, Cuba; the National School of Art (ENA), Havana, Cuba; and the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) Havana, Cuba. He traveled to Mexico, in 1991, and a year later he moved to the United States.
His work has been included in several one-person and group exhibitions. Some of his solo shows include Geographical Mind in the Architecture of Landscape, Gallery Thomas Jaeckel, New York, NY (2018); The Architecture of the Landscape, Farside Gallery, Miami, FL (2007); Paintings and About the Blue Wall at Fredric Snitzer Gallery, Coral Cables, FL (1993); and Recent Works, Nina Menocal Gallery, Mexico City, Mexico (1990). He has received several awards including the First Prize at the Joan Miró International Drawing Contest in Barcelona, Spain.
He lives and works in New York.
