Born in Havana, Cuba (1969)

Carlos Estévez studied at the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts and the Higher Institute of Art (ISA), Havana, Cuba. He immigrated to France, in 2003, and later moved to the United States.

His work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions including Dream Comber, Bakalar Gallery, Mass College of Art, Boston, MA (2002); Speak (Again) Memories, Contemporary Art Center New Orleans, Lupin Foundation Gallery, New Orleans, LI (2007); Soulcatcher, LaCa Projects, Charlotte, NC (2016); Transeuntes, LaCa Projects, Charlotte, NC (2018); and The Secret Life of Cities, Centro Cultural Español, Miami, FL (2018). He has participated in several residences and he has received many awards including a Mention at the IV International Biennial of Painting, Cuenca, Ecuador, and the Grand Prize of the I Salon of Contemporary Cuban Art, Havana, Cuba.

He lives in Miami, FL.
